Functions of Melt-Extracted Fibers
Melt-extracted fibers, produced through rapid cooling and solidification of molten metal alloys, exhibit exceptional mechanical strength, thermal resistance, and corrosion durability. These ultrafine, high-purity fibers are engineered to disperse uniformly within composite matrices, enhancing structural integrity without compromising flexibility. Their high surface-area-to-volume ratio ensures optimal bonding with host materials, making them ideal for reinforcing applications. Additionally, their resistance to extreme temperatures (up to 1200°C) and chemical degradation enables reliable performance in harsh environments, from industrial furnaces to corrosive settings.

Application in Concrete Reinforcement
In concrete reinforcement, melt-extracted stainless steel fibers significantly improve tensile strength, crack resistance, and impact durability. When mixed into concrete matrices, they form a 3D reinforcement network that mitigates shrinkage cracks and delays structural failure under load. Compared to traditional steel bars or synthetic fibers, they offer superior dispersion, preventing clumping and ensuring consistent stress distribution. This makes them ideal for high-stress applications like industrial flooring, tunnel linings, and seismic-resistant structures. Their corrosion-resistant properties also extend the lifespan of concrete in humid or salt-rich environments, reducing maintenance costs and enhancing sustainability.

Main function:
Mixing moderate Xorex steel fibers into concrete, its tensile strength will be raised by 20%-50% and its flexural strength will rise by 40%-80%. In case of usual dosage of fibers, compressive impact toughness can be reinforced by 2-7 times, toughness of impact shear and tensile malleability will be strengthened obviously. Concrete mass itself is a multiphase, multicomponent, non-homogeneous granular brittle composite material. Its compression ratio is only about one-tenth. What's more, it has pretty low anti-crack ability. Incorporation of steel fibers can block emergence of crack, decrease size of fracture source, and zoom out quantity of crack source. It enables concrete to suppress the extension and propagation of cracks, as well as relieve crack stress and concentration in the process of standing force.
